Seems like there is some piece of the puzzle we're missing.

and a big heck yes to Matt Capps.

I'd love to see a Lewis, Kobayashi, Fist of Iron and Steel set-up crew, and maybe Brodzowski fits in to the Mastny slot, the guy who comes in when we are down by 3 or 4 in the 5th or 6th inning to chew up some time and rest the remainder of the guys in the pen. knowing our starters and believing in their continued dominance, i can't imagine there would be too many times where this would be the case. here's hoping anyhow.Les Savy Ferdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05982164565549803749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11805401.post-51871701434142693752008-05-15T08:51:00.000-04:002008-05-15T08:51:00.000-04:00Back to the Wedge thing, I'm of the belief that a ...Back to the Wedge thing, I'm of the belief that a manager can only do so much and that a lot of it comes down to the players (Hafner's struggles and C.C.'s start being a few examples). And, to this point, I could at least see the rationale behind most of Wedge's decisions and agreed with them for the most part.

But this Marte and JoeBo thing have been and are being badly mishandled by the manager who needs to get Marte some AB and should have never let Brodzoski break camp if an injury that was going to affect his effectiveness was known...which it apparently was.

I understand sticking with the players that brought you and the Hoosiers' notion that "my team is on the floor"; but at a certain point, it comes off as being bull-headed and playing favorites versus putting the team in the best position to win and putting the best team on the field.

All told, I give credit to a good deal of the even-keeled approach that the team maintains to the managing of Wedge and don't put the onus of the offensive struggles on him. But, a few of the things that he does control have been poorly handled by Wedge in the young season.Paul Cousineauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03490622970961409253noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11805401.post-20487770254985573192008-05-14T22:00:00.000-04:002008-05-14T22:00:00.000-04:00Noticed Brodzoski is scheduled to be with the Clas...Noticed Brodzoski is scheduled to be with the Class A team. The Tribe is only a half game in back of the Twins, so there's no super-starting team (as it seems there has been in the Central for the last few years) that they have to catch. Once they get hot (if we believe that they will), the division is theirs.R.M.
