He would certainly get the final spot in my mind over Francisco, for the reasons you mentioned, plus I think Nixon played catcher in a past lifetime, which would give us an emergency fill in there. Trot also had a nice game against Mussina earlier this year. Bottome line though, we're talking about pinch hitting here, and I think Trot's experience makes a big diiference in that role.

Where we differ is in the Laffey vs Lee decision. My take is that if you trust Laffey with the ball in the regular season over Lee, why should the playoffs be any different? Do you think that the pressure of the playoffs will make Lee remember how to pitch? Do you think it would be an open audition situation like Weaver last year? I just don't see a reason to give him the ball.rick@waitingfornextyearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10396058868108198196noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11805401.post-9453805192188755922007-09-26T01:13:00.000-04:002007-09-26T01:13:00.000-04:00as ichiro slaps a single in the bottom of the 10th...as ichiro slaps a single in the bottom of the 10th...

i figured i'd try to figure out why fausto got moved to the day game tomorrow (rather than night game, as they said he would start originally).

my hunch was correct, as i thought i had remembered hammy saying all year: he's better in day games...

Entire Season TEAM W L ERA G GS CG SHO SV SVO IP H R ER HR HBP BB SO
Day Cleveland Indians 9 1 2.14 12 12 1 1 0 0 84.0 80 21 20 4 4 26 44
Night Cleveland Indians 9 7 3.63 19 19 1 0 0 0 124.0 112 54 50 10 7 35 89t-bonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07557582144953901789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11805401.post-45630060970847450422007-09-26T00:59:00.000-04:002007-09-26T00:59:00.000-04:00and i thought i was going to be able to go to bed ...and i thought i was going to be able to go to bed before 1am tonight...t-bonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07557582144953901789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11805401.post-19645672518662776352007-09-25T16:08:00.000-04:002007-09-25T16:08:00.000-04:00And with that, we have a new nickname for Westbroo...And with that, we have a new nickname for Westbrook.
