Ouch...
Grady losing the ball in the sun today allowed the Royals to sneak away with the last game of the series. A meaningless win for the Royals, a huge loss for the Tribe. I understand that the Indians aren't going to win every game and that it's difficult to sweep a four game series (particularly on the road), but this game frustrating in that it was winnable.
Victories by the White Sox, Yankees, and Red Sox put the Tribe 2 1/2 back in the Central and only 1/2 game up in the Wild Card. Since the Yankees and the Red Sox play Monday (while the Indians have a day off), the Wild Card race could conceivably be tied at the end of Monday night. That means that a six game stretch will decide the season.
It's time for the Tribe to come home, rest up for the Rays series and take care of the business that they can control.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

for the record, i previous post of mine was incorrect. the White and Red Sox made up their August rainout over Labor Day weekend, so everyone has the same amount of games left after tonight.
congrats to pronk for being player of the week.
i'm debatable for all of the tampa games... crazy week. i'll try to get to at least one of the games in though.
Saturday's game got switched to a 1:25pm start if any of you didn't hear. i'll be at all 3 sox games. i'll be the guy spilling my $20 beer in the batters eye bar, wrestling an old lady and a little kid for a Pronk home run ball.
had tickets to yanks/o's but it started close to my bedtime due to rain...yesterday's redsox shallacking of the o's was pathetic. it was close to sold out with sawx fans, they did show a replay of Bucky Dent's homerun which brought out a lot of boos. Obviously I'm bias, but I don't see a cleveland sports event ever out-cheered by an opponent without violence.
Is espn showing any of the tribe/sox series or will I have to watch the two teams i hate most in the world
i think as of now, friday/saturday are nationally televised. not sure about sunday. if they move sunday to sunday night baseball i will be very unhappy, as i'll have to drive back to c-bus after the game.
bax, don't they have sports bars there? there's gotta be a browns backers bar that shows tribe games.
they wont move anything to sunday night baseball on this short of notice. i think there are different rules for moving UP a game as opposed to moving BACK a game, as i was reading when espn had their new baseball deal all over espn.com a few weeks ago.
we split our season tix and have 20 games, but they're in our name, so the postseason tix came to our office today. i had the world series tickets in my hands, and they felt real nice.
again, i am reminded of another scene from feverpitch. i cannot stress enough that i will not vouch for the movie, i just think some of the scenes hit close to home. when they open the package with the sheets of season tickets in it. i have a feeling i'd act in a similar manner with world series tickets being delivered to my house.
first your nice to a yankees fan who infiltrated our happy blog, now your admitting to watching (and enjoying) Fever Pitch?...and you haven't even been married a year yet
thanks for the info. on the televised games, i'm also lookin into good seats for ravens/browns...it didn't take long, but i'm already in the In Romeo We Trust fan club...anyone who can get our defense to only give up 13 points to manning in the RCA has got to be doing something right
unbelievable, there were only 23,000 there last night. that is just pathetic.
