Back to the Jake

It's official - Lofton to the Tribe for Max Ramirez.

Could this open up a Dotel for Francisco trade to bolster the back end of the bullpen, as Benny ceratainly seems like the odd man out in the OF mix?
Is there more coming?

Don't touch that dial.

Nice job, PC. Beat me to it...

Francisco is an obvious trade candidate, but what about Trot Nixon? Gutierrez has played well enough that he might take over RF full time. That would leave Michaels, Nixon, Francisco, and Lofton to play left. Really only need two of them.

Two Parma girls go round the outside,
round the outside, round the outside.
Two Parma girls go round the outside,
round the outside, round the outside.

Guess who's back, back again
Kenny's back, tell a friend
Guess who's back, guess who's back,
guess who's back, guess who's back,
guess who's back, guess who's back,
guess who's back...

I've created a monsta, 'cuz nobody wants to
See Trot no more, they want Kenny,
Trots chopped liver.
Well, if you want Kenny, this is what I'll give ya
A little bit of speed mixed with a good hitter
Some inside the parker that will jumpstart your heart quicker
Then a shock when I get on by a whisker
By the grounder when my bats not cooperating
When I'm rockin' the base while the pitcher’s ovulating "Hey!"
You waited this long to stop debating
'Cuz I'm back, I'm on the base and fans are pulsating
I know that you got a job Miss Nixon
But your husband's hitting problem is complicating
So the Rangers won't let me be
Or let me be me so let me see
They tried to shut me down on Jacobs Field
But it feels so empty without me

Now this looks like a job for me
So everybody just follow me
'Cuz we need a little urgency,
'Cuz the Jake feels so empty without me
I said this looks like a job for me
So everybody just follow me
'Cuz we need a little urgency,
'Cuz the Jake feels so empty without me

Little hellions, fans feelin' rebellious
Embarrassed, Trot is as productive as dead Elvis
They start feelin' like Rangers, helpless,
'Til someone comes along on a mission and yells "BITCH!"
A visionary, vision is scary, could start a revolution,
Pollutin' the basepaths
A rebel,
So let me just revel and bask,
In the fact that I got everyone kissin' my ass
And it's a disaster, such a catastrophe
For you to see so damn much of my ass, you asked for me?
Well I'm back (Da Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) fix your bent antenna
Tune it in and then I'm gonna enter
up and under your skin like a bat splinter
The center of attention back for October
I'm interesting, the best thing since Lee’s cap tipping
Infesting in your fans ears and nesting
"Testing: Attention Please!"
Feel the tension soon as someone walks me
Here's my speed, my base is free
A nuisance, who sent, you sent for me?

Now this looks like a job for me
So everybody just follow me
'Cuz we need a little urgency,
'Cuz the Jake feels so empty without me
I said this looks like a job for me
So everybody just follow me
'Cuz we need a little urgency,
'Cuz the Jake feels so empty without me

Best I could do. He needs to come to bat with this song playing at the Jake.

In my previous post I meant bumping Garko to 5th and Pronk to 6th. But this adds a new wrinkle. Where do you bat Kenny? There are so many options now...

What a great way to start the weekend!

when is the wild card leading team significantly upgrading their offense with a .300 hitting OF with speed not front page news at the WWL? when that team is not named the yankees.

Aren't you still at work Cy?

very excited...i'd flirt with the idea of leading him off...grady batting 3rd? Its a question that wedgie has to be lovin finding an answer too

Lee to Buffalo, Mujica to Cleveland.

Laffey to start August 5th to replace Lee in the rotation. Indians have next Monday off to set up their rotation accordingly.

Francisco sent to Buffalo to make room for Kenny on the 25-man.

Luna DFA'd off the 40-man to make room for Lofton.

I've been grinning since Kenny's standing O in the 1st. Loved Shapiro in the booth during the 3rd.

If anyone gets their hands on an extra Hammy talking bobble head tomorrow, I'd kill for one in my office for all the Sox fans I gotta deal with.

What a great way to get over Lee and yesterday's loss.

Was at the game yesterday and the place was electric. I only hope they start to cheer like that for the other 24 guys on the roster.

Great move.

Got a question slightly related to the Dotel rumours I haven't found answered anywhere.

Why not just call up Mike Koplove? He's got the track record they're looking for. He's healthy (and hey, Dotel came back from an injury recently, too, so that can't be held against him). He's pitching well. He did well in his brief call-up earlier in the season. Is there something I don't know about him? He seems to be the perfect in-house answer. Look at what he did with the D-Backs!

Anyone else out there who is not comfortable with a closer with an ERA over 5? I know he's got a lot of saves and all, but he doesn't seem to intimidate good teams. Why won't they give the Rockhead a shot? Of the top 25 save leaders in baseball, he is THE ONLY ONE with an ERA over 5.00...His WHIP of 1.40 ranks him 115th among AL pitchers this year. I don't want this SOB closing games in the playoffs!!
